I used this Vogue pattern because I liked the neckline:
It was super simple to make and went together in matter of hours.
The light was kind of funny when I took the photo so you can't really see the detail. Here's a close-up of the neck line:
|(Ignore the double-chin effect, it's just a weird camera angle.|
At least that's what I'm telling myself!)
I used some fabric I found in the bargain bin at Walmart last year and I got the pattern on sale, so this dress was a super steal. Pattern, fabric, and notions all together probably only cost me around $6-$7. Whoo hoo! I love a bargain. Especially when it's for something that I know I'll get a lot of use out of.

i wish i had sewing skills...
You did a great job and it looks so cute on you!
How fun -- you look fabulous. I loved sewing when I was a teenager, and a lot of my wardrobe was handmade by a very talented local seamstress. So I got to look and be different, and was actually voted best dressed. You're very talented!
So many LBDs in my closet, but they are all summery. This one looks beautiful! You did a great job. Is it comfortable? Just wondering cause I might like to make something like it! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Guys! Thanks for all the nice comments. This is a super easy pattern for anyone who knows even a little about sewing. Don't be afraid to give it a try. Just make sure your fabric has some stretch to it~
Looks wonderful. You can never have only one LBP, wardrobe staple for me.

That is a super cute little black dress!! It looks fab on you!
Amazing! I think you look divine, and how great to have made your LBD yourself! I'm not sure if I will ever be able to do that... Maybe a little black curtain would be more my level. :-) jules
Nice dress. I don't think the top-stitching looks homemade at all. It looks finished.

It looks so professional. Vogue patterns can be difficult--so color me impressed!
Cute as a button! And I like the dress too! Good job! Thanks for linking up to Making It With Allie! I can't wait to see what you have for next week!
My LBD ain't got nothin' on yours! Smokin' hot! And who can look that good for $6-$7!! Fantastic job and no one is really gonna notice or care about that topstitched neckline! Thanks for linking up to Gettin' Krafty With It!
I can't believe you made that yourself, especially in only a few hours! It looks beautiful :)
GREAT IDEA. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I WOULD BE HONORED IF YOU WOULD LINK YOUR SUPER CUTE BLOG UP ON MY BLOG STALKIN' PAGE.
Wow! Really nice job, I love the detail at the neckline and the 3/4 sleeve is so classic! What a great piece you can dress up or down with accessories.
