Burdastyle: Winter Patterns

Wow!  Burdastyle has really been pumping out the new patterns!  In just the past couple of weeks they've released  6 new collections!

Here's a quick peek at a few patterns from some of the collections:

Cameo Collection (10 Delicate patterns), so gorgeous and perfect for the holidays~

Attention to Detail: Some great tailored pieces.  I love the silhouette of the orange blouse~

Holiday Lights: In complete contrast this collection is flowy and pretty.  The maxi dress is flawless.  I like how they show even the casual pieces made up in lux fabrics.

Winter Darling: The perfect name for this cute set of pieces just for your little stylish little girl.  The shorts and vest are the best I think~

There are also two plus size collections that you can check out by visiting Burdastyle and clicking on their blog tab.

Which collection is your favourite?  Have you ever sewn Burdastyle patterns before?  Leave your tips and tricks in the comments below~

Circle Wreath Card

Well, with only a few weeks before Christmas, I've finally gotten around to making some cards.  I just wasn't feeling it, until I shopped my own craft closet and found a bunch of card bases with a beautiful metallic red border.  Funny what you'll find when you're not looking for it~

Luckily, I purchased this little mini 6 X 6 Christmas pad right before my self-imposed ban on purchasing more craft supplies started.

I just used my Silhouette machine to cut out various sized circles under 1" in diameter in 4 different papers.

Then I just used a bit of adhesive on the back of each one and placed them in a circular shape (it doesn't hurt to lightly trace a circle shape first, otherwise you could end up with a weirdly shaped blob instead of a circle...don't ask me how I know this~)

I used a little bow maker to make a teeny tiny ribbon bow and that was that....all done!  So quick and so easy~

Have you started making your cards yet?  Leave a comment below~

PersunMall

If you follow me on Instagram then you've probably figured out that my next big trip is Australia!  And what does every big trip need?!?!  A few new pieces of wardrobe to make unpacking fun.

So, I've added a few pages of items I would love to get over at PersunMall to my wishlist.

Like this cute little top with some pretty earrings and a bracelet!  Perfect for an afternoon out or an evening on the town someplace nice and warm.

But it'll still be cold here in Canada when I get back so my wishlist also includes:

I thought PersunMall was mainly full of clothing for the very young, but I found loads of classic styles that are perfect for any age, and they add new items every week!

Of course this is only a small sample of all the pretty things I found over there.  Check it out and create your own wishlist.  You'll be surprised at the prices and the extensive selection.

Ribbon and Chain Necklace

Disclaimer: I've been sick in bed since Tuesday night and today is my first day out of my pj's and housecoat. Hence, the snazy project name, super easy project,  and slightly dazed look in my eyes~

I realized this week that I have waaaaaaaay too much crafting, jewellery making, paper, decoupaging, card making, sewing, and fabric stuff.  So, I'm on a supplies diet and am only allowed to use things I already have, make things I've been meaning to make, and finish projects I started and haven't completed.  I'm not sure how long this will last, but I had these chains just sitting in a jewellery box doing nothing so I decided to make them into something wearable.

Here's what you need for this super easy project:

Materials:
-Ribbon
-Large chain
-Wire cutters, scissors
-Fray check, thread, sewing machine

Steps:
1) Cut your chains to the size you want, taking off any extra hooks or clasps that you don't need.

2) Apply some fray check to the end of your ribbon.  When it's dry, thread it into the last link in each of your chains and fold behind.

3) Simply stitch it down and repeat on the other side.

Cut your ribbon to a length that will sit nicely and allow enough in the back to tie.  You can adjust the necklace so that the ribbon closure is on the side for something a little more precious and whimsical.

Trying to look thoughtful, but really
my energy is just fading fast~

I'm not sure if I like how long it is, to be honest with you.  I might cut the chains in half so that there are four shorter ones instead of just the two.  But I think I'll wait until I'm more myself before I decide.

Have you ever put yourself on a supply diet?  How successful were you?  Leave a comment below, I need all the inspiration and self-control I can get....especially with Boxing Day sales coming up soon!

New Simplicity

I'm so sad that no one where I live sells Simplicity patterns anymore.  Just look at all the cute things you can make from their holiday edition!

I think these accessories are so neat, especially that little lace collar and the funky metallic peplum~

My niece and nephew live 4 hours away now.  I'd love to make them these travel pillows for their long trips when they come to visit.

The latest catalogue has several pj patterns but these two are my fav.

I usually wear pj pants to bed but these boxer shorts are too cute to resist.

Do you still get Simplicity where you live?  Apparently there's some issue with shipping the patterns to the stores in Canada so some of the major retailers have opted out.  Luckily I can still get them online!
