Fun (and FREE) Digital Images

Even if you don't have an electronic cutter, even if you're not into digital scrapbooking, even if you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll enjoy a visit to MissKateCuttables.

Miss Kate sells, and gives away, svg files.  She gives some great directions on how to use and cut svg's on cutting machines but they also come in handy for other digital art.

Just set up a quick account, go to Freebie of the Day, and download the file.  You can download it up to 3 times and you'll get a .jpg, .png, and a .svg inside a zipped folder.  Just open the folder, save the files to your pictures folder and away you go.

The Freebies of the Day are only up for one day so you need to check back each day so you don't miss something cute.  I can't believe I missed those adorable owls!

Miss Kate also sells all kinds of other images for very reasonable prices.

Check out all the categories!

There's waaaaay more than that, but that's all I could fit in here.

Run on over there and let me know what kinds of awesome projects you come up with for these super cute designs~

Paint Chip Quickie Craft

I didn't have much time for crafting this weekend.  I went to a birthday party on Saturday and then on Sunday I suddenly decided it was time to finally paint the washroom.  Seeing as how it's been on my to do list since I moved into my  house 5 years ago (wow, time flies) I figured I better get on it.

When at last the paint was on the walls, the new light fixtures were almost all up, with only one slightly damaged toe, and several pulled muscles,  I pulled out some paint chips I had picked up earlier in the day at the hardware store.

Then I pulled out my two all-time favourite punches.

Whenever I'm doing paper projects I ended up using these at some point.
Even the smallest scrap can be made into a photo corner~

Here are a few batches of what I ended up with.

These are fun to use on cards or in scrapbooks.

And with the paint chips you can make them all coordinate.

These punches are great on pretty patterned paper, especially when it has some added glitter.

Have you waded into the paint chip fad yet?  What did you make with yours?  Leave a comment below!

Baby Gifts

Some of you who also follow my friend Gen over at Cabin Fevered Gem, may have noticed that she's sort of taken the summer off from blogging.  That's because she's been busy...growing a baby!

Which she just had a week or so ago.  (You'll have to go to her blog to see if she's posting pics)

Of course, I couldn't pass up this chance to make a whole plethora of handmade baby gifts for her.
baby gifts, DIY baby, DIY onesie, baby shower

Check out the video if you want to see the inside of my very first paperbag scrapbook album!  I'm very excited about this project.  It took forever to make, but was so much fun to put together.

I'll be posting the tutorial for the onesie on Friday so  make sure to come back to learn how to embellish your own~

Don't forget to enter the HAPPY BIRTHDAY giveaway going on until the end of August!

As I've mentioned before, I'm not really a scrapbooker.  I think scrapbooking is beautiful, but it's also quite time consuming, and it can get a little on the expensive side.

That's why I was so excited to try out My Memories digital scrapbooking software!

With My Memories you can create layouts in minutes, with sound if you want, and you can share instantly.  It also easily makes calendars, posters, cards and more!
I did this layout with some photos from my recent trip to Thailand from scratch:

And this one from one of the designer templates that comes with the software:

You can add to your software with new kits full of digital embellishments, papers, and layouts.

Summer Memories Collage

As I've mentioned before, I'm not a scrapbooker.  I should be, I have more than enough photos, but I'm just not.  However, I have this lovely new Silhouette machine sitting here beside me at the computer and I figured it was about time I dusted it off and tried it out again.

I've made a few projects with it but I think I started out a little beyond my skill level so I got frustrated pretty quickly.  Last weekend I decided to try just a nice simple layout to see if I could work my way up instead of reaching for the stars first thing.

Easy Scrapbooking, Silhouette project, Photo layout, summer photo layout

(I was inspired by something I saw on another blog.  Unfortunately, I can't find the link so I can't credit the original source.)

My sister and her husband have been working really hard all summer so they've missed out on a few of the adventures we've taken their kids on.  I thought this would be a nice gift for her to see what they've been up to.

I know browns and golds are more fall than summer but this fits in with the decor in her home.  I thought my chances of having it displayed would be better if I made something that fit in instead of something that stood out like a sore thumb.

Anyway, that's my Show and Tell for today.  I like how it turned out and it wasn't hard to do at all.  I just may become a scrapbooker one of these days after all~

All of you new Etcetorizers....don't forget to check out the Follow my Friends tab up top.  Just add your blog button and you have a chance of being featured!  Don't think I haven't noticed all you wonderful new followers, especially all of my friends from Greece!  I'm trying to plan something special for the big 300 mark so stay tuned~

Have a great week everyone~
