I was recently contacted by the great folks over at Campus Book Rentals to do a review of their amazing text book rental concept for university students. Boy, I wish this had been around when I went to school. I don't even want to think about how much money I spent on textbooks and how many I couldn't sell the next semester because the prof changed the edition they were using.
I would have loved to have given this a try, but guess what...my university days are long behind me. And I don't know anyone else who could use their service.
But what I can tell you about is the wonderful charity that Campus Book Rentals supports.
They have teamed up with Operation Smile to spread the gift of happiness to children all over the world. Is there anything more beautiful than a child's smile?
Operation Smile is an out of this world, awesome organization, that performs life changing cleft lip surgeries on children whose families could not otherwise afford it. The long term improvement in quality of life for the children that receive these surgeries is almost incomprehensible. Campus Book Rentals has committed to donating enough to cover a minimum of 1,000 life changing surgeries.
Why do I like Operation Smile so much?
Because:
-Every gift changes the life of a child and their family
-Contributions in excess of surgical costs are invested into their sustainability programs, which empower countries to treat more children on their own
-Operation Smile has more than 5,000 credentialed medical volunteers ready to donate their time and talent.
-Operation Smile has a Post-Operative Care Program that provides patients with comprehensive care after surgery by evaluating their health, the progress of their surgical treatment, their speech and, if necessary, delivering further medical care. Patients are examined one-week, six months and one year after their Operation Smile surgery.
Check out their website to find out more about who they are, what they do, and how you can help.
This post is sponsored by Campus Books Rentals, however all opinions are my own and any remuneration recieved is being donated to Operation Smile.
