Easy Holiday Bling

Looking for some last minute bling to add to your Christmas or New Years outfit this year?  Today's craft is not only fun...it's fashionable (and cheap)!

Here's what you need:



Yes, that is a cat food tin...but it's only the tin
Use any tin you have that would create a
circle big enough for you to put your hand through



Steps:

1) Soften a section of polymer clay and roll out a long thin roll.

2) Once your roll is the desired thickness, roll it in glitter!  Yay!  So fun~

3) Now that you're coated in sparkly bits, gently wrap your roll around an empty tin can or other oven safe circular object.  You want something that you wrist/hand will be able to fit through.


A tin with a lip is great, then your project won't fall off~

4) Now bake in your oven following the manufacturer's directions.  I like to double bake my polymer clay projects but it's not really necessary.  (Double bake just means that I bake it once, let everything cool down, and then bake again.)  I think it makes it just a tiny bit less fragile.

You can stack them on your can and they'll still

cook properly, not sticking or transferring colour

5) When everything has cooled down to room temperature, gently remove your bangle from the can.

6) Make sure to seal your bangle with a coat of Mod Podge or Triple Glaze.  Use Sparkle Mod Podge for even more glitter!  (If you don't seal it you're bangle will eventually lose it's sparkle)

There you go!  Some the perfect accessory for any holiday outfit. 

Try making different shapes, imprinting, adding gold leaf, braiding rolls together, or wrapping with wire.  The sky's the limit~

Have fun and experiment.  The great thing with clay is that until it's baked, if you don't like something, you can just roll it back up and try again.  It's very hard to make mistakes.
