I used this Vogue pattern because I liked the neckline:
It was super simple to make and went together in matter of hours.
The light was kind of funny when I took the photo so you can't really see the detail. Here's a close-up of the neck line:
(Ignore the double-chin effect, it's just a weird camera angle. At least that's what I'm telling myself!) |
I used some fabric I found in the bargain bin at Walmart last year and I got the pattern on sale, so this dress was a super steal. Pattern, fabric, and notions all together probably only cost me around $6-$7. Whoo hoo! I love a bargain. Especially when it's for something that I know I'll get a lot of use out of.

You did a great job and it looks so cute on you!
ReplyDeleteHow fun -- you look fabulous. I loved sewing when I was a teenager, and a lot of my wardrobe was handmade by a very talented local seamstress. So I got to look and be different, and was actually voted best dressed. You're very talented!
ReplyDeleteSo many LBDs in my closet, but they are all summery. This one looks beautiful! You did a great job. Is it comfortable? Just wondering cause I might like to make something like it! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys! Thanks for all the nice comments. This is a super easy pattern for anyone who knows even a little about sewing. Don't be afraid to give it a try. Just make sure your fabric has some stretch to it~
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful. You can never have only one LBP, wardrobe staple for me.

ReplyDeleteAmazing! I think you look divine, and how great to have made your LBD yourself! I'm not sure if I will ever be able to do that... Maybe a little black curtain would be more my level. :-) jules
ReplyDeleteNice dress. I don't think the top-stitching looks homemade at all. It looks finished.
